Home Energy Monitors Now Available

Fort Collins Utilities customers interested in learning about their electricity use and saving energy have a new tool at their disposal. Recently launched as part of Utilities' Peak Partners initiative, the Home Energy Monitor program allows customers to check out a small, secure device to track their energy habits.The monitor provides historical and near real-time tracking of household electric use in kilowatts, kilowatt hours, dollars and cents. Even a simple flip of the lights will change the reading, so it's easy for customers to see exactly where they could be saving. The Home Energy Monitor enables users to:
- automatically connect to their meter - no electrician set-up required
- identify high energy users by turning appliances on and off
- compare power used today with previous days
Peak Partners was developed to reduce energy use during costly peak hours when the community's electricity consumption is at its highest.
